The Ballerinas

Edgar Degas liked to paint ballerinas. Not on stage, but behind the scenes, just before or after a performance, in the magical moments that the ballerinas thought themselves unobserved.

Miffy’s ballet dress is inspired by these scenes. Her soft tutu in pastel colours is made for spinning, dancing and daydreaming of the spotlight.
